Another puzzle game. this time it's got to do with building atoms.
Haven't we seen this before, I hear you say, a game with almost the same
name (ATOMIX !!!). Well... no, although you have to build atoms in both
games. The trick in this game is to connect all the free electrons of
an atom to form a molecule, not just moving them to the right place.
The screen consists of a playfield and a pit into!wich the atoms fall.
Using your pointer you can place the atom that is in the bottom of the pit
on the playfield, thus removing it from the pit. This pit slowly fills up
with atoms and when it's full, ...it's game over for you. But you'll have
plenty of time in the first levels. There are four types of atoms, with one,
two, three or four free electrons. Placing atoms with free electrons next to
each other connects them. If there are no free electrons in a molecule it
is removed from the screen.
The computer gives you a different tasks before each level. These come in
the form of, build four molecules with at least 16 atoms, or, remove the
given atoms. Here you have to build a molecule wich contains the atoms that
are bolted on the playfield. Another task is, build a molecule following
the given pattern. In this case you have to make ONE molecule which fills
the whole playfield. This requires carefull placing of your atoms, placing
one in the wrong place could make a complete molecule of half the playfield
thus removing from the screen, you'll have to start building again (hahaha).
The game also gives you the a chance to play an extra bonus level. All you
have to do is create a molecule with a given size (extremely large most of
the time). In this level you are given a screen full of atoms with only one
or two atoms i the pit, your mission is to make one molecule of it. If it
is a smaller one you'll get no bonus points.
Also included in the game are passwords for every 10th level up till
level 100. After this level you're on your own. You can also play a 'free'
game, just get as much points as you can to get on the highscore list.
The list is also saved to disk (something more companies should include).
Graphically it's clear and clean, nothing spectacular, but it's not
neccessary. The music is good altough it gets a little annoying when you're
playing for more then one hour. It can be turned off, so there's no problem
here. Gameplay is good with just the right pitch in the difficulty
department. The password system and the saved highscore will have you coming
back for one more try.
Percentage of completed molecules are now given :
GRAPHICS 85 %
SOUND 83 %
PLAYABILITY 90 %
LASTABILITY 88 %
TOTAL MARK 86 %
